I haven't tried it on the Savage yet, but I have a Kurykan (sp?) throttle boss on my Road Star. It's just a little rubber paddle that you put on the throttle and your palm rests on it. So, you can't actually let go of the throttle like you could with a throttle lock. The Throttle Boss does help though, because you can relax your grip, so your right hand doesn't get tired as quickly. I like it just so I can move my fingers around a little. They're only $10, so you're not out much to give it a try.
